Business Intelligence Advisor

Dell’s Marketing Engineering organization is hiring a Digital analytics Advisor to be part of the analytics team focused on the development and optimization of Dell’s Technologies applications. The Team drives analysis to influence the engineering development roadmap and ongoing optimization. Also includes support of the ongoing run-the-business usage of the applications.

The Dell Digital Analytics organization is responsible for insights and recommendations to optimize usable interface designs across Dell IT’s applications by applying a user-centred, iterative design process. Collects behavioural data from end users and customers to identify problems, and/or insights that impact product design and development. Employs a broad range of data collection and analytical techniques such as CE analysis, user experience funnel analysis, qualitative/observational methods, and quantitative statistical data analysis.

The team needs individuals with analytic knowledge to deliver high value insight and recommendations. We are looking for a candidate who has a strong background in data base and big data analytics, with proven abilities to be innovative and creative, as well as strong collaborator and communicator.

What you’ll achieve

The person will be responsible for operating within a dynamic, fast-paced, scalable & agile IT development environment, which faces both internal and external customers. The person will be responsible for undertaking analysis, reporting metrics and pulling data to understand and help improve the performance of various on-going engineering development initiatives.

The candidate will have hands-on analytics capabilities, expertise in analytical problem-solving techniques and frameworks and the ability to deal with large volumes of data. He/she will have the experience of working on solving complex analytical problems and should be comfortable with analytical tools.

You will:

  • Deliver insights that inform development of digital applications including performance and user experience. Performed through strong knowledge of digital applications, ability to ingest and manipulate data, and ability to inform engineering and product decisions based on this data.
  • Perform analytics and leverage existing internal analytical tools like Adobe Analytics, Boomerang, or other Application data as well as backend log data (Splunk, IIS logs) to improve decision making through data & analytics for key stakeholders.
  • Perform analysis and visualization of automatically collected and correlated data to get insights into IT operations, customer experience and business outcomes.
  • Creation of capabilities that drive real time decision making, automated processes towards delivery of any regular reporting work.
  • Develop, implement, and disseminate metrics about quality, stability, speed, and performance for various implementations across the enterprise. Analyze and validate findings, creating reports, presentations, and visualizations using tools like Adobe Analytics, Tableau, Power BI, Splunk etc.

Essential Requirements

  • A diploma or bachelor’s degree in computer/IT, Marketing, Statistics, Engineering or Business Degree
  • Experience as a proven Digital Data Analyst or Application Analytics or relevant experience in data analysis & KPIs creation.
  • Expertise at least in one of Tableau/PowerBI/Splunk & Experience with Hadoop/SQL.
  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively towards for process & business improvement
  • Good communication skills & presentation skills

Desirable Requirements

  • Worked with IT development team for implementation and testing of new functions/features.
  • Exposure to (any) online data (adobe/google analytics/ core metrics), SEO/SEM techniques, A/B testing /Clickstream
