EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
As a User Experience Designer on the Business Technology Platform Design team, you will be working with a group of exceptionally talented and motivated colleagues. Our development process follows the principle of continuous integration. We use design tools like Figma along with Jira in conjunction with in-house software like SAP Jam. On our team you will design and improve our cloud database and data management solutions, as… well as cooperate with developers, product experts, and technical writers to deliver the best user experience for our customers. We are looking for people who are eager to learn, creative and resourceful in getting things to work, and who are able of working independently and collaboratively.
You are expected to:
• Create UX and visual design specifications
• Take responsibility for usability testing and providing UX sign off for upcoming releases
• Work closely with our developers and product experts to provide our customers with fresh, friendly, and elegantly simple user experiences no matter their function or role within the application
• Engage with end users, customers and the sales team to better understand the needs and workflows of the end users, and collaborate on concepts for new functionality
• Combine new design mock-ups with existing product features and build videos to show that there is a meaningful story behind each feature request
• Be adaptable to challenges and flexible with changes
• Communicate and collaborate with colleagues across all levels, teams, locations and willing to take ownership
WORK EXPERIENCE
• Experience as a UX designer (including Co-ops and Internships)
• Experience in developing interaction and visual design specifications
• Profound knowledge of design software such as Figma and other related tools
• Experience working in a large & geographically dispersed engineering-driven environment
• Previous work history in enterprise software companies, specifically database, data management or data warehousing related, preferred
• Self-motivated fast learner with exceptional follow-through while operating with a high sense of urgency
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
• BA in visual design, interaction design, or similar field preferred
• Knowledge of User Centered Design principles
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Excellent organization and time management skills
• Working in a SaaS environment is preferred
• A design portfolio, which must be attached when applying for this job
